Understand key terms related to Sustainability Insights and Regrow definitions of regenerative agriculture concepts.
Consistent Adopter
A geographic area (farm or field) is considered to be a "consistent adopter" of a practice if the practice has been detected by remote sensing in that area in the last two years.
Farm
A farm refers to an area of land that is owned by the same entity. Farm boundaries are created by cross-referencing third-party land parcel data with Regrow-created fields. Please note that a single entity may own multiple "farms," and a single "farm" may have multiple operators on that farm. Farms will not extend over state boundaries.
Farm - Practice Adoption
A farm is considered to be a practice adopter if the majority of field acres on that farm have implemented that practice. Example: a farm that has planted cover crops on 51% of arable land will be considered an adopter.
Farm - Practice Adoption, New vs Consistent
A farm is considered to be a consistent adopter of a practice if any fields on that farm are consistent adopters of that practice. Example: if 10 fields on a farm are consistent adopters of cover crop (implemented >1 time in the last two years), that farm will be considered a consistent adopter of cover crop.
New Adopter
A geographic area (farm or field) is considered to be a "new adopter" of a practice if the practice has not been detected by remote sensing in that area in the last two years, but have implemented it in the current year.
