Entering events data: Tillage

This document illustrates a thorough, step-by-step guide for the accurate entry of your structured tillage events.

Introduction

The launch of the MRV Data Platform 2.0 enhances the grower enrollment experience by ensuring greater accuracy, predictability, and scalability throughout the data input process.

This article offers comprehensive guidance on the precise input of your tillage events data, covering tillage practice and dates.

It is advisable to input your crop events data before addressing any of the subsequent stages. This will ensure that the crop and crop year date range is accurately recorded, allowing for a label that is clearly displayed in the subsequent stages:

Entering tillage data

1. The second column of the table features a toggle that allows you to specify whether a tillage event occurred during that particular crop year. Indicate "No" if there were no tillage events during that crop year. When the "No" option is selected, the subsequent data cells will be disabled, indicating that no further input is necessary.

2. Inputting data for crop year cycles that included tillage, toggled to "Yes",  is mandatory.

  • Tillage practice: Drop-down menu for selection; Conventional or Reduced Till
  • Tillage date: For your convenience, input the tillage date either manually or using the date picker (select the calendar icon).
  • Tillage depth: Manually entered in numerals.
  • Tillage depth unit: Drop-down selection for cm or in.
  • Soil inversion: The data entry cell for soil inversion will only be available for input when conventional tillage is selected as the chosen practice. Select "Yes" or "No".

4. You may add multiple tillage events for each crop year by selecting the "+ add event" option.

5. Tillage events are organized in relation to their respective crop years. Any events that occur outside of a designated crop cycle will be clearly highlighted for your convenience.

Saving and editing your data

  • Upon completing each data entry, it is essential to click the save button to secure your input and prevent any loss of information before proceeding to the next stage.
  • Data can be modified at any time by selecting the edit icon. After making the necessary adjustments, be sure to save your changes to ensure they are recorded.
  • Data rows that were added in error can be efficiently removed by using the delete button.
